It was announced earlier this week that the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital will receive close to $1.3 million in funding as part of the province’s Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
Hospital president and CEO Robert Biron says the dollars will go a long way with upgrades to areas of the hospital that date back to 1954.
He says infrastructure funding ensures the hospital doesn’t have to dip into its operating budget for these projects.
Biron says the planning has all been done and, once given the green light, the work should be completed by the end of March.
