The latest housing numbers are in from the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors and it was their 2nd best August in history despite the challenges of COVID-19.
In St. Thomas, the average sale price for a home in August 2020 was $455,786, up 31.3% from 2019 and up more than 77% compared to August 2017. Last month, the average sale price of a home in St. Thomas was $394,093.
The median number of days that a home was on the market in St. Thomas was 9, that’s down from 11 days in August 2019 and in Elgin it was 17, down from 27.
In Elgin County the average sale price for a home in August 2020 was $462,551, up 19.9% from 2019.
Overall, 931 homes exchanged hands in August throughout the LSTAR region.
