A St. Thomas Police officer escaped injury Friday afternoon during a traffic stop in the city’s north end.
Around 5 p.m., a vehicle was stopped and as the officer approached, the male drove toward the officer and then fled the scene.
Due to safety concerns, a pursuit of the vehicle was halted.
A few hours later the 40-year-old man turned himself in to police.
He is charged with dangerous driving and flight from police and held for morning court.
