The confirmed COVID-19 case count in St. Thomas has risen to five today, with Southwestern Public Health reporting two individuals testing positive. To counter that, a pair of Woodstock cases have been resolved, leaving one ongoing case in that municipality.
The two new St. Thomas cases involve youngsters under the age of nine, with one being a student at Mitchell Hepburn Public School. Since the pandemic began, nine youngsters in the health unit’s coverage area under the age of nine have tested positive.
Two of the ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area are 20 to 29 years of age.
The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital assessment centre conducted 226 tests yesterday (Tuesday).
The number of resolved cases is now 257.
