As myFM first informed you, Habitat for Humanity will be returning to St. Thomas to complete 2 new homes for local families in need of a hand-up. The building process is slated to begin shortly with the official Groundbreaking Ceremony taking place on Tuesday (Oct 6) at 11 a.m.
As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, Habitat for Humanity will be live streaming the ceremony on their Facebook page as a way for the community to get involved.
The semi-detached build at 34 Hiawatha Street will mark the 5th and 6th Habitat homes built in Elgin County, bringing much needed affordable homeownership opportunities to two local families.
Stay tuned to myFM for updates on the build from groundbreaking to completion.
