The Boston Bruins announced yesterday (Wednesday) they have signed forward Greg McKegg to a one-year, two-way deal. For the 28-year-old St. Thomas native, it will be his seventh NHL team since being drafted in the third round (62nd overall) by the Maple Leafs in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Last season, McKegg played in 53 games with the New York Rangers, netting five goals and four assists.
The year previous, he suited up with the Carolina Hurricanes, posting six goals and five assists in 41 appearances. The 6-foot, 192-pound forward has played in 185 career NHL games with New York, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Florida and Toronto, totaling 18 goals and 15 assists. He also has two goals in 18 career postseason games.
