St. Thomas has been chosen as 1 of the 38 towns and cities across the province that will have access to 5G service from Rogers Communications.
The company announced on Tuesday that they are expanding their 5G network to 130 Canadian towns and cities including 38 in Ontario, and St. Thomas, London and Woodstock have all been added to the list of communities getting 5G service, which is said to offer faster download speeds.
Rogers states that 5G will introduce new capabilities that are significantly more advanced than previous generations of wireless technology.
They add that 5G will open a world of possibilities – such as real-time traffic management to reduce gridlock and commute time, remote healthcare and virtual surgery for isolated communities, drones using thermal imaging to better inform firefighters trying to fight forest fires and multi-player, lag-free gaming on the go.
