Ontario reported 704 new confirmed COVID-19 cases this morning (Monday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of two new cases, one each in Ingersoll and Woodstock.
There are now 18 ongoing cases in the health unit’s reporting area with four in Tillsonburg, three each in St. Thomas and Ingersoll, two each in Aylmer, Norwich and Woodstock, with single occurrences in West Elgin and East Zorra-Tavistock.
Ten of the cases involve individuals under the age of 50.
The staff case at Caressant Care on Mary Bucke remains active.
The number of resolved cases remains at 270.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 117 tests Saturday. And, as of Oct. 4 (the latest figures available), the positivity rate was 0.2 per cent in the health unit’s coverage area.
The health unit notes per cent positivity less than 5 per cent suggests there are few undetected cases in the community.
