Ontario reported 841 new confirmed COVID-19 cases this morning (Thursday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of two new cases and one resolved in Tillsonburg. The new cases are in Woodstock and Blandford-Blenheim.
There are now 17 ongoing cases, with four in Woodstock, three each in Aylmer, St. Thomas and Ingersoll. There are single cases in West Elgin, Tillsonburg, Blandford-Blenheim and Southwest Oxford.
One individual is hospitalized in ICU.
There is an ongoing case involving a staff member at Chartwell Long-Term Care Residence in Aylmer.
Ten of the cases involve individuals under the age of 50 with no hospitalizations at this time.
The number of resolved cases climbs to 278.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 142 tests Tuesday.
And, as of Oct. 11 (the latest figures available), the positivity rate was 0.5 per cent in the health unit’s coverage area.
The health unit notes per cent positivity less than 5 per cent suggests there are few undetected cases in the community.
