Ontario reported 826 new confirmed COVID-19 cases this morning (Friday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of two new cases and two resolved. The new cases are in Woodstock while the resolved cases are in West Elgin and Southwest Oxford.
There are still 17 ongoing cases, with six in Woodstock, three each in Aylmer, St. Thomas and Ingersoll. There are single cases in Tillsonburg and Blandford-Blenheim.
One individual is hospitalized in ICU.
There is an ongoing case involving a staff member at Chartwell Long-Term Care Residence in Aylmer.
Eleven of the cases involve individuals under the age of 50.
The number of resolved cases climbs to 280.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 188 tests Wednesday.
And, as of Oct. 11 (the latest figures available), the positivity rate was 0.5 per cent in the health unit’s coverage area.
The health unit notes per cent positivity less than 5 per cent suggests there are few undetected cases in the community.
