Ontario is reporting 987 new cases of COVID-19 this morning (Wednesday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 4 new cases and one resolved.
There are now 49 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 34 in Bayham, 7 in Woodstock, 3 in Tillsonburg, 2 in Norwich and single cases in Aylmer, St. Thomas, and SW Oxford.
There is an ongoing case involving a staff member at Secord Trails in Ingersoll.
Thirty-six of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with three of those under 20 years of age.
The number of resolved cases climbs to 308.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital conducted 154 tests Monday.
