Ontario is reporting 1,575 new cases of COVID-19 this morning (Thursday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of nine new cases, all of them in Oxford County. One case in Aylmer has been resolved.
There are now 48 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 17 in Woodstock, 11 in Norwich, four in Aylmer, four in SW Oxford, three in Ingersoll, two each in Zorra, Blandford-Blenheim, East Zorra-Tavistock, and Tillsonburg. There is a single case in St. Thomas.
Thirty-eight of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those seven are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 358.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 170 tests on Tuesday.
