A fire being deemed not suspicious, displaced dozens this afternoon at the Grand Central apartments on Talbot Street.
The St. Thomas Fire Department say that the call came in around 4:30 p.m. and the fire was confined to one unit.
The STFD is reporting water and smoke damage to the unit and at least the adjacent unit at this time. In addition, water damage is reported in the hallways of second and third floors.
Fire Prevention Officer Kim Destun says at least four people will likely to be displaced as a result, and could be several more depending on water damage.
The STFD has allowed people to return to their units, but they were told to be careful of water in the halls.
There are no word of any injuries, however 3 ambulances were on scene as a precaution. More details will come as the STFD continue to investigate.
