Ontario reported 1,009 new cases of COVID-19 today (Tuesday) while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 4 new cases, including one in Dutton-Dunwich with the other three in Oxford County. Seventeen cases have been resolved.
There are 49 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 18 in Woodstock, six in Aylmer, five in Norwich and Ingersoll, four in St. Thomas, three in Tillsonburg, two in Central Elgin and Blandford-Blenheim, with single cases in Bayham, Dutton-Dunwich, East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra.
Three students have tested positive at Assumption Catholic Elementary School in Aylmer.
Bethany Care Home in Norwich has an outbreak with 3 residents and one staff member testing positive.
There are three hospitalizations at this time, none in ICU.
Thirty-one of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those 11 are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 446.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 104 tests on Sunday.
