Ontario reported 1,707 new cases of COVID-19 today while Southwestern Public Health is advising of 8 new cases. Fourteen case were resolved.
There are 64 confirmed ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 29 in Woodstock, 8 in Ingersoll, five in St. Thomas, Aylmer and Tillsonburg, three in Zorra and Norwich, two in Central Elgin, with single cases in Bayham, Dutton-Dunwich, Blandford Blenheim and SW Oxford.
Two Assumption Catholic Elementary School students remain positive, one at East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer and one at Forest Park Public School in St. Thomas.
One staff member at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock has tested positive.
There are two hospitalizations at this time, with one individual in ICU.
Forty-five of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those 12 are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 493.
There are 30.3 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 33.1 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 121 tests on Sunday.
