Canada has become just the third country in the world, after Britain and Bahrain, to approve the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech.
That clears the way for the delivery of 249-thousand doses by the end of the month.
Health Canada’s Chief Medical Health Advisory Dr. Supriya Sharma says Canadians should feel comfortable with the process that has been followed.
Dr. Sharma says the process has been rigorous and that strong monitoring systems are in place.
The benefits outweigh the potential risks, says Dr. Sharma.
Britain started inoculating people yesterday.
