The Elgin County OPP are continuing to investigate following 2 separate vehicle thefts from residences in the Township of Malahide. Police say that the 2 thefts occurred in the overnight hours between December 15th and 16th.
The OPP report that a Grey 2012 Dodge Journey was stolen from a residence on Wilson Line near Imperial Road. The vehicle has Ontario Licence plate #BYXY015 and is believed to have been taken sometime after 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
The vehicle has black winter tire rims on the front of the vehicle and silver rims on the rear. (photo below)
The second theft occurred on Crossley Hunter Line just east of Dorchester Road and involved the theft of a Blue 2001 Chevy Cavalier with Ontario Licence Plate #BAKT897.
The vehicle was last seen in the driveway at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th, but residents believe they heard noises outside at approximately 3:30-4 a.m. on December 16th.
Police continue to investigate the thefts and are looking into the possibility of them being connected as they occurred within 4.5km of one another.
