With a province wide shutdown now in effect, many businesses have had to close up shop for an extended period of time.
Much like the previous lockdown, hairdressers are included in this list but many feel they are unfairly being grouped with other businesses deemed non-essential.
President of the Ontario Professional Hairstylist Association Debbie Dunseath says of the 180 salons she has spoken to since the announcement, none of them have had a single COVID-19 case.
Dunseath argues that they do offer an essential service that does more than just cut hair.
Dunseath is asking hairdressers to send them information regarding COVID-19 and their establishment so that they can send information off to the Ford Government showing the low risk associated with their trade.
