Following a months long investigative project by the St. Thomas Police Street Crimes Unit that started back in the fall, two people are in custody and a large amount of illicit drugs along with several weapons all destined for the streets of St. Thomas have been seized.
Police report that 200 grams of Cocaine, 120 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, and 28 grams of Heroin worth a combined street value of $59, 000 were seized during a traffic stop early Thursday morning on Wellington Street.
A male and female occupant were arrested at the scene without incident.
A search warrant was then executed at the couple’s residence where officers seized an additional 240 grams of Cocaine and 154 grams of Fentanyl worth a combined street value of $113,000.
Two long guns and a cross bow were also seized at the home.
As a result, 32 year old Sonny Cloutier of St. Thomas is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x5, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2, Careless Storage of a Firearm x2, Possess Firearm While Prohibited and Breach of Release Conditions x6.
In addition 26 year old Lyanne Bernier of St. Thomas is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x5 and Careless Storage of a Firearm x2.
They were both held for a court appearance.
