A north end St. Thomas neighbourhood had its own shutdown of sorts Friday night after an armed robbery at a convenience store.
Around 9 p.m., police were called to the area around Fenlon’s Family Market after reports a man had entered the store and pointed a gun at the clerk while demanding money. He fled the scene heading north on Confederation Drive. Police advised residents to avoid the area of Confederation Drive and remain indoors.
St. Thomas Police and the London Police K-9 unit scoured the neighbourhood but were unable to locate the lone suspect.
He is described as approximately 6’3” with a slim build and was wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants, with tan gloves and black shoes with white trim.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
