The London Health Sciences Centre says it’s using refrigerator trailers to store bodies after its morgue reached capacity.
The forensic pathology program, which serves as the regional unit for southwestern Ontario, holds up to 28 bodies at a time.
Its chief information officer says capacity issues have occurred because it’s taking longer to make arrangements for bodies due to the pandemic — but they are expected to be resolved within days.
Meantime, Southwestern Public Health reported seven COVID-19 related deaths in the region yesterday bringing the total to 23 deaths since the pandemic began.
