A St. Thomas resident is facing a slew of charges after a spike belt had to be deployed to bring his vehicle to a stop in Brooke-Alvinston on January 15th.
The incident began around 10:20 p.m., when Lambton County OPP observed an improperly-plated vehicle traveling on Rokeby Line.
When the vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at Inwood Road, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued.
Additional officers in the area safely deployed a spike belt and brought the vehicle to a stop.
As a result, 38-year-old Brandon Little of St. Thomas has been charged with Flight from peace officer, Dangerous operation, Failure to comply with release order, Use plate not authorized for vehicle, Driving while under suspension, Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, and Fail to comply with a continued section order – Rules for areas in Stage 3 as per the ROA.
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice and was remanded into custody.
