Detectives from the St. Thomas Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a 24 year old man on Friday following a tip from the RCMP.
Police says the ICE unit began investigating the male after receiving a tip from the RCMP-National Child Exploitation Crime Centre that images of child pornography had been downloaded to his IP address.
Detectives confirmed the information, where at that time his electronic devices were seized for further search and he was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, the 24 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with one count Possession of Child Pornography and later released on an Undertaking with court date.
Police did not release his name.
