The latest housing numbers are in from the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors, who once again broke a record for residential sales last month.
Starting off 2021 on a good note, LSTAR reports that 547 homes exchanged hands in the region, which represents their best results ever for January since data tracking began in 1978.
Out of the 547 houses sold last month by LSTAR , 413 were single-family homes, 57 were townhouses and 57 were apartments.
During the same month, the overall Home Price Index (HPI) benchmark price for LSTAR climbed 5.7% over December 2020, to $511,500, which marks the first time that LSTAR’s composite HPI price has exceeded $500,000.
In St. Thomas, the average sale price for a home in January 2021 was $498,372, and $524,238 in Elgin County.
