While it has yet to be determined which COVID-19 colour-coded zone the health unit region will enter next Tuesday, Southwestern Public Health medical officer of health Dr. Joyce Lock this afternoon had these words of reassurance.
Dr. Lock said she has concerns of a possible spike in case numbers in the wake of Tuesday’s re-opening, if we’re not careful.
Dr. Lock says other factors taken into consideration before determining the COVID-19 colour zone we will enter next week include how the health unit is managing the workload, what is the situation in hospitals and where are the new coronavirus varients popping up. There is no indication at this time any varients have been discovered in the Southwestern Public Health region.
