Southwestern Public Health is reporting three new cases this morning. A total of five cases were resolved.
No new deaths were recorded and the toll remains at 64 since the pandemic began.
There are 91 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 48 in Woodstock, 15 in Tillsonburg, eight in St. Thomas, seven in Ingersoll, three in Dutton-Dunwich and Norwich, two in Zorra and one each in Aylmer, Malahide, West Elgin, Blandford-Blenheim and East Zorra-Tavistock.
There are two hospitalizations, neither of whom are in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
A total of 47 residents and 38 staff have tested positive at People Care in Tavistock, 1 staff member at Valleyview Home in St. Thomas, and 53 residents and 23 staff members at Caressant Care in Woodstock,
Forty-five of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those 17 are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,281.
There are 43.0 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 39.6 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 20.6 cases per 100,000 population and 13.3 per 100,000 in Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 179 tests on Thursday.
