As announced last week, the Southwestern Public Health region will move into the Red-Control COVID-19 zone beginning today.
The SWPH region will stay in the Red zone for at least two weeks at which time, the province will assess the impact of public health and workplace safety measures to determine if the region should stay there or be moved to a different level.
In Red-Control, the limit on organized public events and social gatherings is 5 people indoors or 25 people outdoor. Limits for religious services or ceremonies, including wedding and funeral services are set at 30 % capacity of the venue or 100 people outdoors.
Restaurants and bars can reopen for indoor dining, with a limit of 10 patrons.
For retail, capacity limits include 75% for supermarkets and other stores that primarily sell groceries, convenience stores, pharmacies and 50% for all other retail, including discount and big box retailers, liquor stores, hardware stores and garden centres
Sports and fitness facilities are able to reopen with limits of 10 people indoors.
