The province is reporting 1,058 new COVID-19 cases this morning with 11 deaths while Southwestern Public Health is reporting no new cases. Three cases were resolved.
The seven-day rolling average remains at three new cases per day.
There are 40 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area, with 16 in Woodstock, nine in St. Thomas, four in Ingersoll, two in Tillsonburg, East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra and one each in Aylmer, Dutton-Dunwich, Malahide, West Elgin and Blandford-Blenheim..
There are four hospitalizations, two of whom are in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One staff member at Valleyview Home in St. Thomas has tested positive as has one resident at Aylmer Retirement Residence and 54 residents and 23 staff members at Caressant Care in Woodstock,
Twenty-seven of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those nine are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,350.
There are 18.9 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 21.3 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 23.1 cases per 100,000 population and 13.3 per 100,000 in Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 119 tests on Saturday.
