A stubborn fire that broke out around 8:43 p.m. Sunday night at Formet Industries in St. Thomas had fire crews on scene until after 1 a.m.
Kim Destun, Fire Prevention Officer with the St. Thomas Fire Department says that crews responded to 1 Cosma Crt to find smoke in the building and alarms sounding.
The fire which started in the wax tank room of the factory was contained to that area and its equipment says Destun.
No injuries were reported as all staff was able to evacuated safely from the building.
A damage estimate as a result of the fire has not been released at this time.
