St. Thomas and Elgin county are the recipients of almost $2.5 million in provincial funding to deal with ongoing COVID-19 costs. The financial support will help ensure the delivery of critical services during the pandemic and keep capital works projects on schedule.
St. Thomas will receive $1.1 million in funding with Elgin receiving $544,000 and Aylmer almost $118,000. The money can be used for PPE, cleaning supplies and bylaw enforcement.
In a release, Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek praised municipalities for adapting operations to ensure public safety.
Local allocations are as follows:
