St. Thomas Public Library this week is welcoming community members back to the Curtis Street facility. Beginning Wednesday (March 10), the library will be open to the public for limited services.
That includes, pickup of holds, browsing for and borrowing items, use of public computers and microfilm readers by appointment. Staff are encouraging short stays due to visitor limits with seating areas and washrooms not available.
Library staff will continue to accept returns through the bin at the front entrance of the building.
All COVID-19 precautions will be strictly enforced for staff and visitors. Screening at the door will be in place and is mandatory to enter the building. Masks are required for entry.
Library materials are quarantined for a minimum of 86 hours upon return before they are recirculated.
“We recognize that we provide other valuable services that meet real needs in our community, such as access to computers,” notes library CEO Heather Robinson. “We are confident that we can now provide a more significant level of service in a safe and effective way.”
Library hours will be Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit http://stthomaspubliclibrary.ca
