The province is reporting 1,268 new COVID-19 cases this morning with 9 deaths while Southwestern Public Health is reporting nine new cases. Three cases were resolved. There are three new cases in Aylmer and one in St. Thomas.
The death toll remains at 67 since the pandemic began.
The seven-day rolling average remains at eight new cases per day.
There are 61 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 28 in Woodstock, 18 in Aylmer, four in Norwich, three in St. Thomas, two in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg one each in Central Elgin, Blandford-Blenheim, SW Oxford and East Zorra-Tavistock.
One individual is hospitalized in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.3 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One staff member has tested positive at Arches Transitional Bed Program in Woodstock.
Forty-four of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, of those seven are under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 2,507.
There are 28.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 32.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 7.7 cases per 100,000 population and Aylmer has 240.3 cases per 100,000.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 114 tests on Saturday.
