A Key Ceremony was held this morning in St. Thomas where two new families were welcomed home by Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario.
Teagan and Shayna, the two new homeowner as well as their families, joined the Habitat team and other representatives at 92 and 94 Scott Street, the spot where the new semi-detached home now stands.
This is where CEO of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario Brian Elliot officially welcomed them to the Habitat family.
Mayor Joe Preston and City Manager Wendall Graves were on hand to meet the families and welcome Teagan to the city, as she prepares to relocate from London to St. Thomas.
Graves noted during the ceremony that you can just imagine all the amazing memories that will be made in these homes.
Both Teagan and Shayna had an opportunity to share their gratitude to Habitat for Humanity and all the other organizations that helped to make everything possible.
The moms, who both spoke through tears during portions of their thanks yous, agreed that owning these homes would not be possible for them without Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario and they are forever grateful.
