The Thames Valley District School Board has announced a 4th positive case of COVID-19 coming out of Mitchell Hepburn Public School in St. Thomas.
The positive case was confirmed by Southwestern Public Health and Thames Valley immediately notified staff, students, parents and guardians at the school.
SWPH is currently investigating the case and is in the process of identifying close contacts. An outbreak has not been declared at the school.
There are now 13 active school cases in St. Thomas/Elgin including 4 at Mitchell Hepburn Public School, 3 at Forest Park Public School, 2 at New Sarum Public School, 2 at St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School and 1 each at Parkside Collegiate Institute and Central Elgin Collegiate Institute.
You are reminded that an asymptomatic COVID-19 testing clinic for all TVDSB staff and students will be held today (April 16) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parkside Collegiate. Testing is also open to children and staff from child care centres in the Thames Valley.
No pre-registration is needed and test results are generally available with 24 to 48 hours on the Ontario COVID-19 portal.
