As a result of a public complaint received by the Aylmer Police Service, at least 4 individuals have been charged under the Reopening Ontario Act following a large gathering at the Church of God last night.
Police say the complaint came in around 8:18 p.m., and when officers responded they observed 18 vehicles parked in the church lot.
While officers dealt with two individuals in the parking lot, a group of 18 persons were observed exiting the church building, with none of the individuals wearing masks or social distancing.
As a result of the investigation, a 42 year old male from North York, 41 year old female from Scarborough, 34 year old male from Aylmer and a 20 year old male from Aylmer were charged under the Reopening Ontario Act for failing to comply with a continued section 7.0.2 order.
The Aylmer Police add that the investigation is still ongoing and further charges are pending.
