Both the Thames Valley District School Board and London District Catholic School Board are giving students and parents an idea of when they’ll have to decide which form of learning they’ll participate in next school year.
The TVDSB says that parents have until May 13th to declare whether they wish their children to attend In-Person or Full Remote Learning for the next school year beginning in September 2021.
For the LDCSB, secondary school students won’t have much time at all to decide, with May 6th being the deadline for enrollment in full remote/virtual learning for the 2021-22 school year.
St. Josephine Bakhita, the LDCSB’s virtual secondary school, will continue for the 2021-22 school year. St. Josephine will have its own administration and student services support staff including, guidance, special education, ESL, student success, and social work support.
A full selection of courses will be offered at each grade level. Similar to in-person schools, student course requests will determine which courses are offered. Courses will be delivered synchronously and asynchronously through the Virtual Learning Environment and Microsoft Teams following a daily schedule similar to that of in-person secondary schools.
The school board says that the deadline for elementary school students will be announced at a later date.
