Today 94.1 myFM and Fanshawe Career and Employment Services St. Thomas are shining a light on 9 amazing individuals, businesses, organizations and support staff that have stepped up and made a positive difference in our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
For St. Thomas Police Constable Katherine McNeil walking the beat through downtown St. Thomas allows her to check the city’s pulse. Moreso during the pandemic.
In addition to coping with the restrictions and missing out on valuable family time, she worries about the health of downtown businesses.
As she explains, the onset of the pandemic last year meant a major adjustment to her job description. That included getting out of a police cruiser and transitioning to policing at the street level.
While adjusting her routine to accommodate coronavirus restrictions, it hasn’t taken away from the satisfaction she enjoys through her interactions with the most vulnerable individuals in the community.
