An investigation conducted by the St. Thomas Police Service Street Crime Unit has resulted in the arrest of a local couple.
Police say that 34 year old Dennis Churchill of St. Thomas and 44 year old Jennifer Curtis were taken into custody Wednesday night around 10 p.m., and each face a slew of charges.
During the arrest, officers seized a loaded gun, illegal Taser and over $2500 worth of illicit drugs including Crystal Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Hydromorphone and several illicit prescription tablets during a search warrant.
As a result, Dennis Churchill has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm/Ammunition Contrary to Order x5, Possession of a Prohibited Device, Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x8, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Resist Arrest, Breach of Release Conditions x3.
Jennifer Curtis is charged with Possess Firearm/Ammunition Contrary to Order, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Device, Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x8, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
The two were held in custody for a court appearance.
