Fanshawe College is joining Western University in making 1st dose COVID-19 vaccinations a requirement for all students living in residence.
The college says all students living in residence will be required to show proof they have received at least the first dose of a Canadian approved vaccine.
The school notes that if students are unable to get a COVID-19 vaccine in their home community, Fanshawe will assist with scheduling a vaccination appointment upon arrival.
Unvaccinated students will be expected to have their first dose within 14 days of arriving at residence.
Students who cannot be vaccinated due to medical accommodations or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code may request an exemption, however the school notes that approved exemptions may impose restrictions on access, activities or room occupancy.
The University of Western Ontario made a similar announcement last week.
