The 2021 Ontario Hockey League Draft proved to be a memorable one for Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs players Noah Vandenbrink and Taya Currie.
Vandenbrink, who is a Belmont native was selected 83rd overall by the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Parkhill’s Taya Currie was selected in the 14th round by the Sarnia Sting, making her the first ever female selected during the OHL draft.
The 16 year old goalie has been playing with the Triple A boys team for the last 7 years in the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs system.
