Premier Doug Ford has promised to maintain a $3 an hour pandemic wage increase for personal support workers, but hasn’t said how or when his government will act on the pledge.
The increase is currently set to expire on August 23rd and Ford’s office has not said whether it will be further extended or made permanent.
He spoke Monday following a funding announcement in North Bay but did not share any further details.
But Ford is urging people to consider a career as a PSW as the province works to meet its goal of providing four hours of direct daily care to each long-term care resident by 2025.
