The Greyhound may have bolted, however there’s a Megabus ready to take over starting this Thursday (July 15). Discount operator Megabus is teaming up with Badder Bus Lines in St. Thomas to offer direct runs twice a day from London to Toronto.
Megabus already operates express service in the Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal corridor although the buses on the London-Toronto route will be provided by Badder and will not be the distinctive blue Megabus double-deckers.
Badder president Doug Badder says all ticketing will be handled through the megabus.com website.
Badder says they can’t use the downtown London bus terminal so they have to be geographically creative.
Buses leave London daily from the Flying J truck-stop on Highbury Avenue, south of the 401 at 6:30 a.m. and 12:05 p.m., and departing from Toronto at 10:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Social distancing will be observed on the buses.
When passenger demand increases, Badder says the aim is to add a London-Windsor service.
