The three-year, $35 million redevelopment of Terrace Lodge is more than just a revitalization of the long-term care home. In conjunction with a community fundraising campaign, it’s an opportunity to bring ‘The Comforts of Home’ to the facility located just east of Aylmer. Malahide councillor Dominique Giguere, chair of the Terrace Lodge Redevelopment Fundraising Committee explains it’s all about making it more like home.
The Comforts of Home campaign hopes to raise $675,000 over three years to assist in the redevelopment of Terrace Lodge.
Giguere adds the aim is to purchase the type of furnishings you would find in a typical residence, starting with a pair of barbecues for residents and their families.
As of this month, the committee has reached half of its Year 1 target of $225,000 in The Comforts of Home fundraising campaign.
