The Aylmer Police were among services who put an increase focus on roadways this long weekend as part of a provincial wide traffic safety initiative.
From July 30th until Monday, August 2nd, officers focused on the “big four” offenses, including speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and seatbelt use.
41 charges were laid over the 4 days, with 30 of those being Speeding charges.
In addition, 1 individual was charged with Stunt Driving, 1 charge was laid for Distracted Driving, 1 novice BAC above 0 mgs. charge was issued, 2 Liquor License charges and 6 other driving related charges.
No collisions were reported in the Town of Aylmer over the long weekend.
