The Thames Valley District School Board will once again be offering their High School, Here I Come! program for students who are beginning grade 9 in the fall.
The program will give students the opportunity to learn tips, hints, and skills in order to feel more comfortable and prepared for the start of the school year.
The 2 day program will run from both August 23-24 or August 25-26, and will teach students study skills, literacy and numeracy learning skills, the importance of time management and organization, and will go through the realities and anxieties associated with high school.
The program also helps to encourage students to get involved in extracurriculars as a way to make friends and stay active in the school community.
The program is being offered at many high schools in Elgin County including Arthur Voaden Secondary School, Central Elgin Collegiate Institute, East Elgin Secondary School, Lord Dorchester Secondary School, Parkside Collegiate Institute and West Elgin Secondary School.
Registration for the free program is open until August 10th.
