A staple event in the city has shifted gears and locations with the hope of highlighting the amazing local artists St. Thomas has.
The Railway City Music and Arts Festival will makes its debut in Pinafore Park next Friday after 26 years of being known as the Iron Horse Festival.
Festival President Joanne Dowswell says the board felt that it was time for a change.
Dowswell says the weekend festival kicking off Friday at 3 will see many musical performances.
Artists and local vendors will be on hand selling their work, with chalk art and a circus show planned as well.
Dowswell notes that the 2021 edition of the festival will not be all that they hoped it would be, with plans for a midway and even more performances in years to come.
Dowswell adds that the event is 100% free to attend.
The Railway City Music and Arts Festival is still looking to add some food vendors to their line up. Those interested can reach out through their Facebook Page.
The festival will run Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
