The province announced Monday that St. Thomas will receive $1.8 million in additional COVID-19 funding.
The money is earmarked for the delivery of critical services, to create longer-term housing solutions and keep vulnerable people safe in the city and Elgin county.
St. Thomas is the service manager for Elgin county.
MPP Jeff Yurek notes “The ongoing effects of COVID-19 create significant pressures for both members of the community experiencing difficulty accessing safe housing and for municipalities in responding to those needs.”
Yurek added “This additional support will ensure that resources are available for our neighbours who need it.”
