A 51 year old St. Thomas man was arrested on Talbot Street Tuesday afternoon with four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Police say a concerned citizen alerted police after seeing a car swerving all over the road around the noon hour.
Police located the vehicle and stopped the drive in a Talbot Street parking lot, where it was determined by officers that the male was impaired by alcohol.
Following breath samples taken at the police station, it was determined he had four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
As a result, the 51 year old has been charged with Operation While Impaired by Alcohol, Operation with Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus, Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available and Having Open Liquor.
He was later released with a court date, and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.
