St. Thomas Police are reminding the community to be vigilant and think twice following the most recent scam in the city.
The service has been notified of a scam that has been using the St. Thomas Police Service non-emergency number of 519-631-1224.
It is alleged that the suspects stated that money was owed to the Canada Border Services Agency in order to have their charges dismissed.
The St. Thomas Police Service want the public to be aware that phone numbers can be disguised and used in this manner.
If you are having any second guesses on the legitimacy of a phone call, hang up and call the service, business or organization back directly.
