The United Way 3M Harvest Lunch is back with the Elgin Middlesex United Way.
Due to the pandemic, they weren’t able to hold the event last year, so they created a pay it forward system where you can buy a ticket online that goes towards a meal for someone who needs it.
Kelly Ziegner, President and CEO of United Way Elgin Middlesex said that it was really important for them to find a way to help those in their community even with the ongoing restrictions.
The way they decided to do this was the pay it forward format.
Ziegner said that with how well it went last year, and the interest this year, this format may stick around.
The goal this year is to surpass 2,000 meals.
